Amalsha Dassanayake is a seasoned Human Resources professional with over 15 years of experience across both corporate and development sectors. She managed the full spectrum of HR functions at USAID/Sri Lanka and Maldives, including recruitment, training and development, performance management, merit-based compensation, within-grade increases, position classifications, personal file management, and HR policy administration. She also served as a subject matter expert (SME) on the Global Merit-Based Compensation System a Mentor in USAID Asia Mentorship Program, contributing to USAID’s strategic HR modernization initiatives.
Amalsha holds an impressive academic portfolio, including a Professional Qualification in HRM (PQHRM), an Advanced Diploma in Counselling Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English from the University of Peradeniya, an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business, and a Master’s in Human Resource Management from the University of Northampton (UK). She is also certified in Leadership Coaching by ACT.
Before joining USAID, Amalsha served as Deputy Manager - Human Resources at Trans Maldivian Airways, the world’s largest seaplane operator, where she led HR operations for over a decade. She began her HR career at McLarens Shipping Ltd., Sri Lanka, contributing to both HR and HR development functions.
Amalsha is deeply committed to aligning people strategy with organizational success and brings a values-driven, people-first approach to her work in talent development and leadership.
